Step into a tranquil, sun-drenched conservatory with this beautifully illustrated ceramic tile. Capturing a quiet moment of a plant lover tending to their lush collection of greenery, this tile brings a sense of calm and natural beauty to any space. The vibrant yellows and rich greens of the artwork are brought to life by a brilliant, shiny glaze.

Each tile is a unique piece of art, hand-baked with care in the Netherlands using traditional methods. A smooth clay ‘butter’ is poured into frames and baked in three separate rounds at temperatures soaring between 850 and 1250 degrees Celsius. This meticulous process ensures the design is permanently sealed within the high-quality ceramic, creating a durable, lasting finish.

Resistant to heat, water, and cold, this tile is as practical as it is charming.

STORY

While studying at the Amsterdam School of Arts, Marga van Oers saw a need for unique, accessible art. Her vision for Storytiles truly solidified with a gift from her grandmother: a box of centuries-old Dutch Delftware. These antique tiles, with their charming cracks and storied pasts, became the perfect canvas for her own narrative art.

Marga breathes new life into historic ceramics, creating small tiles that tell a story. While her work is often positive, her most poignant pieces carry deep personal meaning. The ‘Forever’ tile was born from the loss of her mother, depicting a bird looking at a golden star. The design holds a specific meaning for her, yet offers universal comfort and interpretation.

Today, Marga creates from her new farmhouse studio, balancing her growing business with family life. Each Storytile remains a miniature world blending history, imagination, and heartfelt emotion. It is this ability to capture entire stories within a single, beautiful object that makes her work so incredibly special and cherished.
