STORY

In the hills of Manipur, India, the Tangkhul tribe of Longpi Khullen village has been carrying forward the ancient craft of Longpi pottery. This “pottery of the royals,” known for its black hue from serpentine stone firing, is uniquely made without potters' wheels, with artisans hand-molding every piece. Each vessel, with its distinct imperfections, tells the story of the hands that shaped it and the rich cultural heritage it represents.
