The Firstfruit — Glass Pomegranate Bud Vase

Regular price $38.00
Shipping calculated at checkout.

A pomegranate blown in glass, small enough to close your hand around — the fruit's little crown left open at the top, the seed-cluster pressed into one face, the whole thing translucent so light passes clean through it. In clear glass it disappears into the light and shows you the stems and roots inside; in deep red it glows and pools ruby on the surface below. A slim opening at the crown holds a single stem, a cutting, or a sprig of something green rooting in water. It asks for almost nothing and quietly changes the corner it sits in.

The pomegranate is one of the oldest symbols of abundance there is — all those seeds standing for prosperity, fertility, and good luck across Mediterranean, Persian, and East Asian traditions alike. A warm, festive little thing to give at a housewarming, a wedding, or a new year — for anyone starting something, or anyone who likes a single stem better than a whole bouquet.

STORY

The pomegranate is one of the oldest symbols of abundance — its many seeds standing for prosperity, fertility, and good fortune across Mediterranean, Persian, and East Asian traditions. Blown in deep red glass and left open at the crown, this little vase holds a single stem or a cutting rooting in water. Fittingly, the gemstone garnet takes its name from the Latin for pomegranate — the color and the meaning have always travelled together.

Care Instructions

Hand wash in warm water with a little mild soap and dry with a soft cloth. Handle gently — glass is delicate. Not recommended for the dishwasher.
