The Deep Thinker - Brass Octopus

Eight arms cast in solid brass, curling and uncurling across whatever surface you set it on — no two of them at the same angle. The mantle is stippled with fine pebbled texture, the suckers picked out one by one down the underside of each arm, and the antique patina pools in the low places so the whole creature looks salt-darkened and sea-worn. It has real weight for something this small, and it will never sit quite the same way twice.

The octopus is the sea's great improviser — three hearts, nine brains, and the ability to pour itself through a gap the size of its own eye.
