The Renewal — Brass Peacock

Regular price $29.00
Shipping calculated at checkout.

The Renewal carries its whole fortune behind it — a sweeping train of layered feathers that makes up half the piece, each plume worked in fine relief, the scaled neck arched and alert. Cast in solid brass with an antique patina settled deep into the featherwork.

The peacock is an old emblem of beauty, renewal, and watchfulness — it sheds its train each year and grows it back more splendid, and legend gave its feathers a hundred eyes that never close. In India, where it walks wild through gardens and temple courtyards, it is the national bird and a sign of good fortune.

Small enough for a palm, extravagant beyond its size — for a desk, a shelf, or the one who's never once apologized for being the most interesting thing in the room.

STORY

The peacock sheds its train each year and grows it back more splendid — an old emblem of renewal, beauty, and watchfulness, its feathers said to carry a hundred eyes that never close. In India it walks wild through gardens and temple courtyards as the national bird and a sign of good fortune. This one is cast in solid brass, its whole train worked in fine relief beneath an antique patina.

Care Instructions

Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Brass will develop a natural patina over time. To restore shine, use a brass polish.
