The Snug — Pewter Sleeping Pigs
The Snug is two pigs asleep against each other, so settled they've nearly become one shape — ears folded, snouts resting, every line of the coat worked in fine detail. Hand-cast in lead-free pewter in Vermont, small enough to sit on two fingertips.
Pigs are old emblems of comfort, plenty, and good fortune — and a pair asleep together is the plainest picture of trust there is. Cast by a Vermont workshop carrying a pewter tradition that reaches back to 1755, it's also at home in a Nativity scene, keeping the quiet corner of the manger.
A tiny token with real weight of meaning — for a couple, a new home, a Christmas tradition, or anyone whose idea of happiness is staying in.
