The Honeymaker — Brass Bee
A honeybee cast in solid brass, wings spread and legs braced as though it has just touched down on the table. The thorax is worked in a fine, fur-like texture; the wings are veined and swept back, catching the light along their edges while the patina settles dark into every crevice behind them. It spans about two and a half inches and carries far more weight than its size suggests — one of those small, heavy objects that's hard to set back down once you've picked it up.
Bees have carried the same meaning in nearly every tradition that stopped to watch them: industry, community, and the sweetness that only comes of patient work. A hive is a village — thousands of small lives whose whole purpose is the collective. A quietly meaningful gift for a gardener or beekeeper, for someone who works hard without making noise about it, or for the person who holds a household together.
