Gathered Earth Vessel – Hand-Built Clay Sculpture by Conrad & Dina (Canada)

Regular price $200.00
Shipping calculated at checkout.

A 9-inch hand-built clay vessel — asymmetrical, unglazed, and shaped from a blend of natural clays and gathered earth materials. The walls aren't even, the rim curves where it wants to, and the surface carries the fingerprints of the people who made it. It's built to be looked at, not poured from — the unglazed clay isn't watertight, and that's the point.

Made by Conrad and Dina, ceramicists working out of Canada who hand-blend their clays from raw earth materials and build everything by hand. Their process draws from ancient pottery traditions and a deliberate slowness that's hard to fake. Each vessel takes its final shape from the material itself rather than being forced into a predetermined form, which means no two are alike.

STORY

Conrad and Dina are Canadian ceramicists who build their work from raw earth materials and hand-blended clays, using methods that draw from ancient pottery traditions. Their work began with a single wheel-throwing session and grew, over years, into a practice centered on intention, slowness, and the inherent imperfection of hand-built form. They work without molds or mass production — each vessel takes shape from the material itself, embracing asymmetry and the marks of the hands that made it. Their pieces reflect a belief that ceramics aren't just objects, but offerings of the earth, the hand, and the maker.

Care Instructions

Dust gently with a soft cloth. Do not submerge or expose to standing water — the raw clay surface is unsealed and porous. Decorative use only.
