The Moods — Concrete Expression Heads

A head the size of a plum, cast in concrete and caught mid-feeling — the brow gone soft, the eyes shut, the mouth open on a note only it can hear. It has real weight for its size, the matte grain of poured stone, and a face worked in enough detail that you keep finding new angles. There's no fixed bottom: tilt it onto any of the flat spots along its underside and the whole expression changes. The name of its mood is pressed into the back, small, like a signature.

Every culture has made faces out of earth — the mask, the household god, the little guardian on a shelf. These are that instinct at its most human and least solemn: not gods, just moods. One is funny alone. Two start a conversation. A shelf of them becomes a room with opinions in it, which is the whole point.

Cast by hand in a US studio, so no two are identical — each carries its own colour saturation, a faint parting line, and a small ground circle on the back. Those are the marks of the mold and the hand, and we'd rather you saw them. For the person with a dry sense of humour and somewhere to put it — a desk, a mantel, a bookshelf that could use a witness.

These are that instinct without the solemnity: not gods, just moods. Each is cast by hand in a US studio and given a name pressed into the back. One is funny on its own; a shelf of them becomes a room with opinions in it.

Care Instructions

Dust with a soft dry cloth. Wipe gently with a barely damp cloth if needed and dry at once. Do not soak. Keep indoors — unsealed concrete stains and weathers.
