Hand-loomed in Cape Town, South Africa by Leila Atelier — a handcrafted textile studio founded on Leila's journey between South Africa and India, where she apprenticed with traditional weavers and learned the slow, heritage techniques that now define her work. Each throw is woven from 100% organic cotton on a hand loom, carrying cross-cultural influences from India's textile soul to Africa's deep-rooted craft traditions.

Soft to the touch and grounded in heritage. Drape it over the bed, the couch, or a reading chair; use it as a picnic blanket, a swaddle for tummy time, or an everyday layer for warmth and texture. The hand-knotted fringe, the subtle slubs in the weave, the slight variations in color — all intentional, all part of what makes a hand-loomed piece a hand-loomed piece.

STORY

From Leila Atelier — a handcrafted textile studio based in Cape Town, South Africa. Leila's practice began with an extended apprenticeship across India, where she immersed herself in traditional textile craft and learned directly from the artisans who shape each thread by hand. Returning home to South Africa, she built a studio that carries that lineage forward: every piece is hand-loomed in small batches, using natural fibers selected for their integrity and softness.

Her work sits at the intersection of two deep textile heritages — India's centuries-old weaving traditions and South Africa's rooted craft culture — and each throw, blanket, and textile carries that cross-cultural thread. Slow, soulful, made to last.
